I'd like to conduct an experiment. I would print off an obscure piece of Ray Bradury or some other equally brilliant writer only I wouldn't include the writer's name, then I would give it to my creative writing class to critique.
Do you think they would tear it apart quite so specifically as they did my writing today?

I'm betting they would, just because a lot of English majors (you excepted, of course!) are so full of themselves and their amazing talent that they don't think anyone else is exempt from "tearing apart"...which is probably why a lot of them can't handle real-world criticism. ;)
oh my gosh that would be so us.
been there, done that and guess what...yep. If they wanna critique it, they will. People seriously suck. I hate them.
plus most writers or "aspiring" ones are usually self righteous a-holes. that's a given.
